The View Box- Zooming In and Out

There are essentially two timelines being viewed at the same time.  The bottom timeline is a visual depiction using dots to represent each event on the timeline.  The View Box is the portion of the timeline viewable in the Timeline Window.  In the below example, we are not viewing the entire timeline, just a portion of the timeline that has two events.

The View Box is set to show the time between:  January 9, 2013 and April 9, 2014 (dates appear in orange/yellow).

Changing the Size ot the View Box.
One way to change the size of the View Box is to click and drag its edges.  The View Box can be expanded or contracted by CLICKING and DRAGGING either side edge of the View Box and moving it so as to make a larger or smaller viewing area.  The View Box can be expanded or contracted to your liking.  So, as shown in the example, if you wanted to see two events within the View Box, you can set the size of the View Box so that the only two events are viewable in the TImeline Window.

You can also change the size of the view box using your middle scroll wheel on your mouse, or using a two finger gesture on a Macintosh track pad.

Being able to change the size of the View Box allows you to precisely see a portion of the timeline that you want to see. You'll notice that on the left and on the right hand side of your timeline, as you move the scroll box, it tells you what dates are within the scroll box viewing area (in orange/yellow).  You could expand the View Box to show ALL Events, but you are likely to create  collisions between events and a very messy looking timeline.  The whole purpose (and brilliance) of the View Box is to allow the Timeline User to show only portions of the timeline, thus avoiding a messy layout and Event collisions.

The View Box can be moved (nor resized) by CLICKING on its center and DRAGGING it to the left or right.  The View Box will not change size, but rather its position on the overall timeline.
