Creating a New Project

To create your first interactive timeline launch either the CrimeLines or TimeLaw software. The app will start by checking for your license.
Once it finds your license, you can start using the application. Click Start App.
You can have two options: open an existing CrimeLine or TimeLaw project, or start a New Project.
Click New Project
Name and save your new project to your projects folder. Doing this will create a timeline file with the name you gave it: projectname.win
Folder Structure
Also, at the same time it will create a folder structure for this project including an assets folder with subfolders (video, audio, icons, images, PDF, external files) and a WIN-archived file folder.
The Archive Folder
The archive file folder stores old versions of your timeline in case you run into an error or can't undo something you want to undo. Every time you re-launch CrimeLines or TimeLaw software, the last opened version of the file will be saved in the win archive folder (and will be dated stamped). If you ever need to backpedal to a previous version of the timeline, you can always recover an earlier version of the timeline file located in the WIN-archive folder.
The Editor Window
The first window that you see is the editor window.
