Commonwealth v. Capeles, 950 N.E.2d 84, 79 Mass.App.Ct. 1129 (2011)

The fact that the police made their observations by means of a live video feed did not render their testimony inadmissible or speculative. Witnesses may testify to things they have seen even when visual aids are employed. See Commonwealth v. Grace, 43 Mass.App.Ct. 905, 906-907 (1997) (surveillance from a distance using binoculars). Nor was it necessary for the Commonwealth to call the informant as a witness in order to lay a foundation for the admission of the testimony about the video feed. The officers' testimony about setting up the camera and the nature of the equipment was sufficient for this purpose.
