Events are made up of an icon, a heading and a subheading. You can add a poster image (essentially a thumbnail image) to the event (it will be displayed right below the event on the timeline).

Adding a Poster Image to an Image Event
In the Event Tab of the Editor Window, click on an Event in the Event List.   Click, the WHITE and GREEN + POSTER button.   Navigate to the image that you want to add as a poster image.  Click on that image and then click SELECT.  Click the GREEN SAVE EVENT button.  That timeline event now has a poster image.

Adding Poster Image to a Video Event
You can add a poster image to a Video Event by playing the video file to the moment in the video that you want to make as the poster image. Click the button CAPTURE POSTER.  Click the GREEN SAVE EVENT button.  That event now has a poster image.
